Hey there! My name is Melissa Buras, and I am the Founder of My Spoken Project. I have always dreamed of owning my own business one day. After two decades of working in corporate America, my whole life changed when we decided to homeschool our children. I said goodbye to working for other people and hello freedom! I’ve always loved challenges, and I love being a problem solver. Mix those two things, and I have the joy of being home with my kids and being a business owner. We all know staying home with kids is quite the challenge! Ha! All jokes aside, I LOVE being a transcriptionist, and I am thrilled that you’re here on my website. What does a transcriptionist do?
As a professional transcriptionist, these are the steps I take to transcribe your audio or video files:

Load your audio or video file into my transcription software, which is connected to a foot pedal to control the pause and play of the audio.

Transcribe your file to text. This can include time stamps and speaker names or identifying markers. Your content will be broken into proper paragraphs as needed.

Proofread and edit so that it is consistent with the audio content and error-free.

Send the transcribed, edited, proofread text back to you!
